Responsibilities of Student Officers*:
- All officers should: attend almost all organization meetings/ assist at 75% of the events that Hillel plans/sponsors, and report to the president as needed.
- President: Help keep the group motivated, authority to represent the students of Hillel, run the board meetings, serve as a signatory for Hillel to request rooms in the Union, write an agenda for every meeting, ensure that all aspects of the Constitution are executed properly, establish new relations between Hillel and other student and community organizations, and always be welcoming to new members at events.
- Vice President: Act as president in president’s absence, complete administrative requirements for events such as equipment requests and reservations. Help keep the group motivated, oversee the committee positions, and helps table in the Union.
- Vice President (Tzedek): Overseeing/helping the program director plan programs that concern social justice and social action. Making sure that Hillel has an adequate amount of these events per month/semester. Making/maintaining relations with community service organizations on the campuses as well as in the community.
- Secretary: Take minutes at every board meeting, send out minutes to the board after every meeting. Help make the agenda with the president and make the tabling schedule for the board. Will also take attendance at the board meetings and help the staff collect the event signup sheets.
- Treasurer: Apply for grant funds. Work with staff on budgets for events. Keep receipts and records of spending from events.
* The student board will comprise more than just elected officers. Additional positions will be held by Committee Chairs (committees include Shabbat, Holiday, Social, Israel, and others).
